Get Fit with Barre Nor Cal
My journey began in 2010 in San Francisco, where I was working in the corporate world in fashion and looking for a way to stay in shape. I come from a dance background and never fit in at traditional gym settings. I had been taking dance classes for fun, but needed something I could do regularly to stay fit. I lived near a barre studio and for my birthday my fiancé gave me a 1-month unlimited membership to try it out. I was in love after my first class! Shortly after, I began teaching classes for a franchise barre company on the side. Eventually, I craved to be at the barre studio more than my desk job. I made the leap in 2015 to leave my corporate job and created my own version of barre combining traditional barre movements with my own dance influences. My fiancé and I relocated back to El Dorado Hills in 2015 to be close to my family. We definitely take advantage of being so close to them now. We love to get together every weekend, from wine tasting to trips to Lake Tahoe together. My fiancé and I are planning our December 2016 wedding at San Francisco City Hall. We have lived all over the U.S. together from, San Francisco to New York, but there is no place like home.
I am so happy I have the opportunity to share my love of barre and help individuals become fit and flexible with me! Barre Nor Cal is located in the Carson Creek Center, just past the El Dorado Hills Town Center. We have a spacious 900-square foot studio with open warehouse ceilings and plenty of natural light. Established in 2015, and at the beginning of 2016 Barre Nor Cal joined forces with another local barre studio, thebodybar(re), which had been a local staple since 2012. Barre Nor Cal brings a fun new style and attitude to fitness! Come take part in our total body workout designed to tone, tighten, and sculpt your entire body. The workout is a combination of standing exercises performed at the ballet barre, Pilates-based floor work on mats, and stretching with short intervals of low-impact cardio throughout the class. The workout uses precise isometric movements to focus on your large muscle groups and your small ones that are often ignored in other forms of exercise. Utilizing these muscles is essential for creating a toned, feminine physique. You will build strength, grace and flexibility during our hour-long classes, which are choreographed to up-tempo motivating music. All levels are welcome; you do not need to be a classically trained dancer to enjoy this class! We are a locally owned and operated small business and not a franchise, all our instructors live in the area and are immersed in the community. Many of them live in the Serrano neighborhood! With this comes a sense of community; we are so much more than a gym. We know each of our clients by name and want everyone to feel like they are a part of our family. PLUS, with our fabulous workouts you will really see results! We challenge your entire body with new exercises each week so your body does not adapt to working the same muscles. Our classes are designed to target your major muscle groups maximizing your calorie burn, boosting your stamina all while shaping your muscles to create the long lean lines of a dancer. Ballet based workouts are a complete mind and body workout. It requires mental focus, physical coordination and strength. Our success is in our wonderful staff and amazing clients!! Each class is unique to the teacher and clients attending, keeping it fun and welcoming to everyone.
